FORUM: Ancient Roman Social Media

For my senior Capstone project, I combined the world of ancient Rome with the modern day to create FORUM, a social media “app” made almost entirely of ancient Roman graffiti.

The “app” itself is entirely physical, printed on a scroll both as a reference to how almost all writing was stored on scrolls at the time and to how we modern humans spend our days scrolling social media. The box allows the viewer to physically scroll through the scroll, and serves as a low-tech phone.
